Hope in Crisis

The dawn of 2025 invites us to reflect on our mission at Cabaret Haiti Mission (CHM) and renew our commitment to bringing hope to Haiti during challenging times. Our mission to share the good news of Jesus through Christ-centered homes, schools, and churches anchors us in this transformative work.

Crisis in Haiti

Haiti has faced many struggles—natural disasters, economic challenges, and political unrest. Yet, amidst these challenges, CHM has remained steadfast in its calling to bring light and hope. Board members were asked, what does “hope in crisis” mean to you in the context of CHM’s work? We can all agree with CHM’s Administrative Assistant, Kenzie Allen, “Haiti is currently in crisis, and it has been really painful reading/hearing the stories of what is happening there. Executive Director, Mike Snider honestly shared, “The state we were in was hopeless. We were in crisis on all fronts. No school, no beds, and food insecurity. They have all of this now. They have every opportunity to succeed once again!”

Glory be to God.

Vision Rooted in Hope

Our vision, “Do for one what you wish you could do for all,” reminds us that every small act of love and service matters. Each classroom opened, each child cared for and loved, and each church planted echoes with the promise of hope for a brighter future. Kenzie reminds us, “CHM can offer true Hope in Jesus through our churches and schools, which share about the love of Christ and the hope that only He can provide during times like this. Additionally, we are providing hope through opportunity for those we employ and through the recent evacuation of our children to a safer location.” The entire board shares in Mike’s moment in 2024 that illustrates hope, “I don’t think there will be another moment as beautiful and hopeful as when that helicopter took off with our kids!”

Stories of Impact

When asked of how board members have witnessed CHM’s vision come to life, Mike reminded us that during the recent evacuation, “we were taking care of everyone on the mountain” as well as our children and staff.

Dr. Renee’ Pleasant, CHM’s current chairman, shared, “Every act of service and every step forward is a testament to the love and faithfulness of those who believe in our vision. It’s not just what we do—it’s the spirit in which it is done, fueled by grace and the generosity of our supporters.”

Faithful donations make all of this possible. From providing care and shelter on the mountain to empowering local communities through sustainable development, your contributions ensure that we can continue meeting both immediate needs and long-term goals. Together, we are not just creating impact; we are building hope and transforming lives.

Our Request of You

As we step into this year, we invite you—our partners and supporters—to join us in amplifying hope. Jeremiah 17:7 reminds us, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Hope is not merely a wish but a confident expectation that, through faith and action, transformation is possible. CHM’s mission will continue to carry the message of hope to Haiti, one life at a time. Thank you for your support of CHM’s mission.
