Help Us Finish Strong with a $70k Year-End Goal

As we look back on 2025, one word rises above all others: faithfulness.

In a year marked by unrest and danger in Haiti, Cabaret Haiti Mission has stood firm in providing safety, shelter, and love for our children. That commitment has come with increased costs, stretching our budget further than ever before. To finish the year strong and continue meeting the ongoing needs of our children, we are seeking to raise $70,000.

We know it’s a significant goal — but together, it’s possible.

A Year of Unprecedented Challenges

This year brought trials unlike any we’ve seen before. Yet through every hardship, God’s protection has covered our children, and the generosity of supporters like you has carried us.  Below is an overview of the major challenges we faced in 2025:

  • Transition to a Dedicated Space – This year, we made the intentional decision to leave the shared compound and move into a space of our own. Doing so allows our children more room to grow, play, and enjoy a sense of normalcy in their daily lives. The safety and well-being of our children is non-negotiable; but each move requires resources, transportation, repairs, and new infrastructure.
  • Continued Security Vigilance – Gang activity in Haiti remains active and unpredictable, and the shifting dynamics keep our full attention. We are constantly monitoring conditions and reassessing our surroundings to ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care. Keeping our children secure became a full-time effort — and our highest priority.
  • Mama Bonnie Valentine’s Fundraiser: A Bright Spot in a Difficult Start – February, our annual Mama Bonnie Valentine’s Fundraiser raised over $70,000. It was an extraordinary blessing — but the months that followed brought unexpected crises that quickly consumed those funds. Though the impact of the fundraiser was significant, the escalating dangers and emergencies dimmed the longevity of that momentum.
  • Giving Tuesday Success – We are grateful to share that our recent Giving Tuesday campaign exceeded all expectations. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we surpassed our $15,000 goal, providing vital funding for our Transition Program and giving our young adults a stronger foundation for their future.
  • Damage to Our Bercy Facility – During an outbreak of gang activity, our facility in Bercy suffered damage. We are profoundly grateful that all our children were safely relocated beforehand, but repairs and relocations added financial strain.
  • Truck Breakdown, After Years of Faithful Service – Our mission truck has been a lifeline for transportation, supply runs, and emergency evacuations. This year has taken a toll on the vehicle with deferred maintenance and an accident. While the truck is still operational, we recognize it is on limited miles.
  • Hurricane Melissa & the August Earthquake – Natural disasters compounded instability. Hurricane Melissa caused flooding and disruption. While, in August, the 4.1 earthquake added another layer of uncertainty for our staff and children. Every disaster required added resources that were not budgeted.
  • Our Mountain School Needed Recovery After Serving as a Refugee Camp – Our mountain school served as a refugee camp for many months during regional violence. Before the school year began, we had to divert funds to repair, clean, and restore the facility so children could safely return to their classrooms.
  • The Loss of a Faithful Team Member – One of the most painful moments of 2025 was the passing of our beloved longtime employee, Necker “Nick” Jean Louis. Nick was one of the first to serve at Cabaret Haiti Mission. He was a pillar of dedication and love for our children. CHM has stepped in to help care for his family as they navigate life without him.
  • A New Child, a Renewed Hope – Amid the hardships, God brought light. Earlier this year, Dawensley arrived at CHM with nothing but the clothes on his back. At our annual golf tournament, generous donors stepped forward to become his sponsors, helping us provide him with care, stability, and hope for the future.

Our Commitment: Stewardship and Accountability

Through every challenge, we have remained committed to being faithful stewards of every dollar entrusted to us. We continue to:

  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of our children
  • Stretch every resource
  • Reduce costs wherever possible
  • Ensure transparency in how funds are used [In the months to come, look for our invitation to join our February State of the Mission meeting]
  • Make decisions rooted in prayer, wisdom, and responsibility

But the reality is clear: 2025 placed extraordinary, unplanned demands on our budget.

Help Us Finish the Year Strong

To continue providing safety, stability, and hope for our children, we have set a year-end goal of $70,000. This amount will allow us to:

  • Continue meeting our daily operating needs
  • Cover the unexpected costs created by this year’s crises
  • Maintain safe housing, education, and care
  • Replace essential transportation
  • Strengthen our facilities
  • Ensure our staff and children are supported as we enter 2026

Your partnership has carried us through the hardest moments of 2025; and for that the words THANK YOU seem miniscule. Yet, we could not have made it thus far without your prayer and financial support. Now, as we close the year, we invite you to stand with us once again.

Together, we can reach this goal. Together, we can continue to protect and care for the children God has entrusted to us. Together, we can finish strong.

Will you prayerfully consider giving to help us reach our $70,000 year-end goal? You may make your donation here: https://chm.reachapp.co/campaigns/sustain-the-mission-close-the-gap.

Thank you for your faithfulness, generosity, and love. We could not do this mission without you.

A Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for Your faithful provision over Cabaret Haiti Mission and for the children You have placed in our care. Through danger, uncertainty, and hardship, Your hand has protected us, guided us, and sustained us. We give You praise for every life preserved, every need met, and every moment You carried us through this year.

We lift up our donors—those who pray, give, encourage, and stand with us. Bless them richly for their generosity and their hearts turned toward the needs of others. May they experience Your favor, Your peace, and Your joy in every area of their lives.

We pray over this mission and all who serve within it. Strengthen our staff, equip our leaders with wisdom, and continue to surround our children with Your love, safety, and hope.

Lord, we ask that 2026 would be a year marked by peace – peace in Haiti, peace in the hearts of our children, and peace over every home and family connected to this mission. Continue to provide, protect, and lead us as only You can.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
